Terms of Use

Effective June 13, 2026 · Last updated June 14, 2026

In plain terms

HomeLedger is a tool to help you track your own finances. It is not financial, tax, or investment advice. Use it responsibly, and the data you enter is your responsibility.

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the HomeLedger app ("the app", "we", "us"), provided by Joshy Joseph. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) also applies to your use of the app and is incorporated by reference. Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the Apple EULA governs the licensing of the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use HomeLedger on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service.

2. The service

HomeLedger lets you record and organize personal and household financial information — accounts, transactions, budgets, savings goals, bills, and reports — stored on your device and synced to your own private iCloud. You are responsible for the data you enter and for keeping your device and Apple ID secure.

Not financial advice. HomeLedger is an informational and organizational tool only. It does not provide financial, tax, accounting, investment, or legal advice, and nothing in the app should be relied upon as such. Calculations and summaries are based solely on the data you enter and may contain errors. Always verify important figures and consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

3. In-app purchases

HomeLedger offers an optional one-time "Premium" purchase that unlocks additional features. Purchases are processed by Apple and subject to the App Store Terms. Pricing is shown before purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies; we do not process payments or refunds directly.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, including by: using it for any unlawful purpose; attempting to interfere with its operation or security; or reverse-engineering, decompiling, or modifying it except to the extent permitted by applicable law.

5. Intellectual property

The app, its design, and its content (excluding the data you enter) are owned by Joshy Joseph and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

6. Your data and third-party services

Your financial data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud account. The app relies on Apple iCloud (CloudKit) for sync and sharing; your use of those services is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. Keep your own backups where important.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or financial loss, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time and delete it. We may suspend or end the app or these Terms if you materially breach them or as otherwise required. Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers and limitations) will survive termination.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and will revise the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
